ASA Ban of Composite Bats for Fastpitch softball?

There have been many rumors of an impending ban of composite bats for the 2009 season by ASA.  Presumably, other sanctioning bodies (NSA, ISA) would follow suit.  According to a press release dated 5/15/2008 by ASA, it doesn't appear that composite bats will be banned anytime soon.
